I've posted a picture of this on flickr and Pinterest before, but thought that I would post this recycle idea to the blog. My husband has to have flavored water or he won't drink it. I don't know, I think it's a mental thing, but that's another story. Thus, we end up buying water enhancers, such as Mio to satisfy his bland water dilemma.
One day, my daughter came home and said her salad dressing container had leaked in her lunch bag. Yuck! I hate when that happens. I didn't want to buy another small container and add to our already cluttered cabinets. What to do? Then it struck me. What about an empty Mio bottle? It's small enough to fit into her lunch box and is leak proof.
Here are the simple steps...

Here are the simple steps...
Cut the plastic label off.
Pop off the top and rinse the bottle out.

For thin liquids, like soy sauce or pancake syrup, you can just poor it into the bottle. If you have a thicker liquid, use a small funnel or Ziplock bag with the tip cut off.
In the picture is Ranch Dressing.
Then just squeeze your liquid into the bottle and snap the cover back on. Don't forget to label it and put an expiration date of the item you are putting in it.
**For Cesar or Italian dressing, the small bits floating around in it may clog the opening. It general works, but I did notice that I had to squeeze extra hard when that happened.**
