How are you all doing on your organization and cleaning challenge? If you started at the beginning of January, you should be on day fourteen and in the garage. After starting this organization project, I realized that my house isn't really disorganized, it was just messy...lol. I mean, I do have "like" items together. It's just not pretty to look at. Does that make sense?
Here is a prime example...our make shift kitchen office. We did have a dedicated office/craft room upstairs, but we turned it into a bedroom for our youngest son. Sooooo, right now we have a space in our kitchen that is serving as our temporary office area.
Things that bothered me here(Before):

Things that bothered me here(Before):
- Tons of cords touching the ground, which made it difficult to sweep
- Papers piled on top of the file box (This is like my husband putting his clothes on top of the hamper instead of inside of it)
- Second computer tower sitting on the ground
After:
- Covered desk protector with black/white fabric
- Covered mouse pad with black/white fabric
- Used Velcro tabs to mount power strip under desk
- Bundled cords with twist ties and strips of leftover fabric strips (no cords are touching the floor)
- Removed file box
- Placed second computer tower in a desk cube stand (we had the second tower cube stored in the garage)
**I'm eventually planning on switching out the wall art and mounting some existing shelves, so stay tuned for some updates to this area.
Used spray adhesive to attach black/white fabric onto desk protector and mouse pad.
Mounted power strip under desk with Velcro strips & bundled cords.
Used a 3M hook to keep my iphone charging cord off the ground.
What do you think? Not a major difference, but I'm happy with it. The best part, I used items I already had on hand to do this quick update.
